Concert Artistry: Interview with Chip De Stefano

Nearly two years ago, Mr. De Stefano received a gracious invitation to sit for an interview with one of his mentors, Professor Paula Crider, for her Concert Artistry series for Conn Selmer’s Division of Education.  Professor Crider has been a longtime friend and supporter of Mr. De Stefano and the McCracken Middle School Bands.

We covered several topics including:

  • Rehearsal Priorities
  • Fundamentals
  • Isolating performance skills
  • Modeling
  • Developing student leaders
  • Bringing out the love of music in students

The interview was thought lost since there was no mention of it since the recording, but we’re thrilled it’s available.
