2023 Center Cass District 66 Winter Invitational

Congratulations to both the McCracken Middle School Concert and Skokie School District 73.5 Intermediate Band for their outstanding performances and work at the 2023 Center Cass District 66 Winter Invitational on Saturday.  This was the relaunch of this outstanding festival following the pandemic, hosted by Lakeview Jr. High School (Downers Grove, IL).

The McCracken Middle School Concert Band, under the direction of Mr. Mendoza, performed Band in the Square (Pierre LaPlante), Ye Banks and Braes O’ Bonney Doon (arr. Sweeney), and The King’s Feast (arr. Singleton).  The Intermediate Band was conducted by Mr. Mendoza, our student teacher Ms. Rios, and Mr. De Stefano. They performed Jester Dance (Mikel Rogers), Hallelujah Chorus (arr. Loest), and Dragon Slayer (Grice).

Both bands performed for very appreciative audiences, received written and recorded comments from the Matthew Bufis (Evanston Township High School) and Victor Anderson (Yorkville High School, and had short clinic with Mr. Anderson. Congratulations to both bands.
