Board of Education Resolution
RESOLUTION POR THE McCRACKEN MIDDLE SCHOOL SYMPHONIC BAND
WHEREAS, the Skokie School District 73.3 enjoys a long tradition of musical excellence, and
WHEREAS, the members of the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band diligently
practiced over the summer months n preparation for their fall band auditions, and
WHEREAS, the members of the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band practiced with
their director Mr. Chip De Stefano all year, four mornings a week, despite all odds at 7:30 a.m.
sharp and every Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., with their instruments, music and pencils in
hand, and
WHEREAS, the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band was one of only four middle
school bands in the State of Illinois invited to participate in the Superstate Band Contest Festival held at the University of Illinois in Champaign on May 5, 2000, and
WHEREAS, the performance was held at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts to a packed house which included more than 80 McCracken family members, and
WHEREAS, the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band and their director, Mr. Chip De Stefano, performed superbly, inspiring all competitors, and
WHEREAS, the judges unanimously selected the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band as this year’s contest winner, now
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Skokie School District 73.5 Board of Education does hereby congratulate the members of the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band, their director, Mr. Chip De Stefano, as well as the parents and family members who have helped make the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band the best school band in the State of Illinois!
Be IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that suitable copies of this resolution be given to the members of the McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band and their director, Mr. Chip De Stefano, as testimony to the hard work and dedication everyone put forth to make this band the best in the State of Illinois.
