Skokie Village Board Resolution
WHEREAS, under the direction of Chip De Stefano, McCracken Middle School has proven to provide an exemplary curriculum in music; and
WHEREAS, the McCracken Middle School Band was named the honor band, which is the equivalent of first place, at the University of Illinois Superstate Concert Band Festival; and
WHEREAS, the McCracken Band played three songs at the invitation-only contest on May 6, 2000, hosted by the University of Champaign, “Irish Rhapsody”. “Pirates” and the “Theme from Green Bushes”; and
WHEREAS, the McCracken Band has been invited to participate in next year’s festival.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE VAN DUSEN, Mayor of the Village of Skokie, do hereby proclaim June 5, 2000,
“McCRACKEN MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND DAY”
and congratulate the McCracken Middle School Band members and its director Chip De Stefano and wish these talented students successful performances as they represent their school, the Village of Skokie, and all of its citizens.
